Mallorca

This summer we had the opportunity to spend some time at this beautiful house in Mallorca.

The house is only 15 minutes by car from Palma city center and 30 minutes from the airport, so you can combine country lifestyle with shopping and cultural life in the city. We can recommend the independent art gallery LA CAJA BLANCA if you like modern art and architecture or the MIRO MUSEUM.

We found the house on AIRBNB

Norwegian inspired wooden house in Canada

This summer we had the chance to say hello to some old friends at their new place near the town of COATICOOK in the Eastern Townships, Quebec, Canada and very close to the US border and the state of Vermont.

The house is from the early 80s and was constructed by the founder of one of the largest Canadian engineering companies. The outside of the house is a combination of large stones and solid wood structures - inspired by Scandinavian housing and maybe especially the Norwegian wooden house structures.

The inside is dominated by the high sealing, the stone walls, the long corridor and the great wide spaces as the master bedroom with an old fashion bathtub and view over the North American woods or the large kitchen and eating area dominated by the stone fireplace.

The garden is very well kept with a lot of flowers, herb and vegetable garden and off course the spacious pool and outdoor kitchen area.

The house is located a few minutes from the US border and our hosts took us on a walk to see the border and take a few steps into the US.

Thanks to Marie-Nöel and Sylvain for sharing this with us !
